Space at Convergence

 Studio Space at Convergence

The May 31, 2009 Deadline for submissions has expired, and new applications are being accepted but will not be considered until March 2010, due to the volume of requests and a revision of policy and procedures. We appreciate your patience during this time.

Convergence is offering artists the opportunity to apply for one of 14 working studios located in the Lab building at 1819 Quaker Lane in Alexandria, VA.  Studio space is available for rent.

Fees range from $200-$500, utilities included, per month for a maximum of one year, at which point, artists may resubmit an application for continuance in the program. This is to be an incubation time. Artists may keep their studio for a maximum of two years.

Convergence is seeking out a diverse group of artists in a variety of media who are active, self-motivated, edgy, experimental, interested in the exchange of artistic ideas, and open to sharing their artistic processes with others.  A panel comprised of Convergence staff, artists, curators, and arts professionals will select artists based on the quality of work, professional commitment, and interest in participating in a stimulating and creative environment.  Selected artists will be asked to interview with the panel prior to acceptance.
