Adult Art Classes
NEW CLASS! Abstract Painting - Acrylics on Canvas
"We Throw the Brush Away"
Have you always wanted to create a painting but were afraid to try? Have you tried other art classes and gotten frustrated? This class is for you! We will paint the canvas with a "craft" approach in structured steps, using non-traditional tools to manipulate the paint. After this class, you'll be able to paint a painting so fast you won't believe it!
Option: Take the first class for $25.00 to learn about basic composition, applicable to photography, arts & crafts, as well as fine art. Materials list is given out at the first class which is 100% lecture.
Saturdays starting July 12 until September 6 - 10:00 to 12:30 pm
Cost: $45.00 plus materials

Writing Classes
Writing Circles for Beginners
Tuesday mornings 10:00 am -12:00 pm.
Cost for all four sessions is $80.
Writing Circles are designed with the beginning writer in mind. Small groups meet for two-hour sessions in a relaxed, supportive environment, and explore various themes using creative writing exercises and prompts.
Diving In: Searching Memory for Story - 6 Week Writing Workshop
Wednesdays, starting June 11th at 7:00 pm.
In order to make these courses accessible to all, they are offered at a minimal cost. However, please do not allow cost to keep from taking a workshop. Please contact the Convergence office to find out about scholarships. 703-998-6260
